Und wieder einmal überraschen die Black Eyed Peas mit einem ganz neuen Sound. Irgendwie futuristisch angehaucht, für die sonstigen Verhältnisse auch ruhig und entspannt und gar nicht so vor Kraft strotzend wie man es sonst gewohnt ist. Daft Punk kommt mir da spontan in den Sinn wenn ich den Song höre. Wie auch immer man das Varieren der Musikstile der Black Eyed Peas auch immer finden mag, man kann nicht sagen, dass sie nichts neues ausprobieren und nicht wandlungsfähig sind.

Die Black Eyed Peas sind zur Zeit mit einem ganz ungewohnten Sound am Start. Für den ein oder anderen bestimmt verstörend oder zumindest gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber nicht unerfolgreich. Mit dem Track "Imma Be" kommt die zweite Single aus dem aktuellen Album "the E.N.D", aus dem schon "Boom boom pow" zu hören war. Je öfter man das Zeug jedoch hört, desto mehr kommt man in den flow und den Sound...

Black Eyed Pead - Boom Boom Pow

Lange war es still um die schwarzäugigen Erbsen, aber das warten hat nun ein Ende. Mit der Single "Boom boom pow" wird das erste Lied und potentielle Hit aus dem neuen Album "the E.N.D" welches am 6. Juni in die Läden kommen soll. Der Titel ist eine Abkürzung und steht für "the Energy never Dies"... Musikinteressierte werden bei solchen Spielchen wohl auch schnell an den Bandnamen N.E.R.D von Pharell Williams denken, deren Abkürzung lautet "No One Ever Really Dies"
Wer weiß ob etwas hinter diesen "Gemeinsamkeiten" steckt oder nicht.
Die Single "boom boom pow" ist nicht so wirklich eingängig und partytauglich wie andere Werke der Peas. Durch den Einsatz von Computerelementen und Stimmverzerrern ( bekannt aus Kanye West Songs ) erinnert es an manchen Stellen doch teilweise stark an Mr. West.
Und auch die Meinungen bei Youtube und anderen Foren sind durchaus gespalten in Hinsicht auf dieses Werk...
Aber wie oft hat man sich schon bei einem vermeintlich schlechten Song getäuscht...
Am besten Abwarten und sehen wie es sich entwickelt.
